The Role

Exciting new position working on one of London’s largest mixed use sites for a leading Prop Co!

 

As Development Analyst, you will support the business with the preparing cashflow-based appraisals for large, complex development projects. Initially, this will be to support their large mixed use development opportunity in Central London with a broad range of analytical support, including maintaining the Masterplan model and preparing plot appraisals.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Support the business in designing, building and running financial cashflow-based appraisals for complex development projects

• Liaise with and develop positive working relationships with relevant stakeholders to understand their analytical requirements

• Use initiative to highlight problem areas in a timely manner and report as appropriate

• Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and financial outcomes

 

Specific responsibilities include

 

• Designing, building, using and adapting existing Excel-based appraisal models to run financial appraisals to meet tight deadlines

• Supporting annual forecasting process, with input Anaplan forecasting models

• Produce clear, insightful output to include in relevant Investment Committee or Board papers

• Maintain comprehensive documentation and audit trail of all models and supporting data.

• Offer proactive challenge where methods and processes could be further improved or simplified.

• Clear and effective reporting of achievements and issues.

 

 

Requirements

 

• University degree or equivalent

• Strong analytical skills

• Demonstrable experience of designing, building and operating financial models as a core component of a previous role(s)

• Advanced Excel skills, including a working knowledge of best practice modelling principles

• Knowledge of key financial concepts such as NPV and IRR, as well as property specific concepts such as Profit on Cost.

• Ability to communicate confidently with property and non-property professionals, and to explain the outcomes of analysis to a range of different stakeholders.

• Sound commercial acumen, with some experience and understanding of the property sector.

• Comfortable working on a “big picture” or highly detailed basis

• Experience of using Anaplan advantageous but not essential
