The Role

Property Investment and Development company who specialise in Build to Rent Housing and also Student Accommodation, are expanding their UK BTR portfolio rapidly, and need a market facing Capital Markets Surveyor to help with this growth. The role is London based, and will support investment acquisition, financing, and asset management objectives of the business principally in UK BTR, though supporting the wider UK and European PBSA platform as required, and as the business continues to expand.

The role will include:

  • Working closely with the Investment Director and Managing Director and will principally focus on transaction underwriting & due diligence, acquisitions, financing, asset management, corporate structuring and business operational activities for UK Build to Rent sector opportunities. Career path is into an autonomous Origination role.
  • Refining and maintaining of financial models for current and prospective acquisitions, including comprehensive sensitivity analysis. Working across teams in many cases for the production of Excel cash flows and business plans for new opportunities.
  • Providing detailed analysis of prospective opportunities and assisting in the preparation of Board and Investment Committee papers.
  • Provide assistance in the due diligence process of any prospective acquisition.
  • Conducting market research to support investment, asset management & financing decisions.
  • Responsibility for registering the introduction of opportunities and then tracking deals on the Investment Monitor across all strategies.
  • Liaison & reporting to key stakeholders, including internal, third party capital & JV partners to satisfy information requirements.
  • Relationship building; externally with property owners, agents and other professional firms to support the strategies.

The Successful Applicant:

  • Will have 2-3 years' experience in the real estate/property market, with good experience in Residential Capital Markets, or a specific BTR team
  • Candidates must have strong analytical capabilities, commercial judgement and ideally transaction experience.
  • Excellent underwriting experience including cash-flow and capital structure analysis of potential acquisitions and existing investments.
  • The role will suit a self-starter who is interested in the UK Residential rental markets.
  • Comfortable with accountability and at the same time can collaborate well in a team environment.
  • The role will suit a candidate with a strong work ethic and a desire to progress within the business.
  • The candidate is expected to have strong proficiency across MS Office
