Investment Management - Associate role


The Role

Opportunity to join a highly experienced and fast-growing team, who are building a best in class investment management platform, within a company culture driven by pioneer-thinking and talent.

You will become a key member of the Investment Management Team within a leading real estate investment manager, developer, owner and operator of operational real estate in the US and Europe.

You will be reporting to the Investment Director, and will also be supporting other key functions of the business including Acquisitions and Finance. A key part of this role will be to take the lead on the various financial models used in underwriting and investment reporting.


· Underwriting and evaluating real estate acquisitions and investment opportunities

· Assist with structuring and modeling the debt/equity raising for all acquisitions, developments, dispositions, refinancing scenarios, recapitalisations

· Developing accurate financial models and investment monitoring tools

· Manage the preparation and presentation of investment memorandums, presentations, pitch materials, and packages for investors, lenders, partners, and other constituents:

o Compile market/transaction data

o Quantitative and qualitative research on markets, as well as demographics and supply/demand dynamics related to markets as required

  • Perform detailed financial modeling for developments and acquisitions
  • Deal/fund level waterfalls and sensitivity analysis
  • Ongoing review of projects and comparing to initial underwriting
  • Support in due diligence request and deal execution as required

· Preparation of strategy and research papers; evaluating new markets and investment opportunities.

· Supporting financing activities for both new and existing investments, including evaluation of different financing options, legal coordination and negotiation with lenders; analysis of term sheets; assisting with loan servicing requirements and ongoing financing relationship management.

· Working closely with other team members to drive internal and external client reporting (including institutional investors), strategy and other presentations.

· Support ongoing investor relations and fundraising efforts. This includes mandated reporting requirements to institutional investors.


· University degree – Major in finance, commerce, property or economics desirable.

· Outstanding analytical (excellent financial modelling skills and proficiency with Excel) and communication skills, as well as ability to critically analyse ideas and proposals.

· Previous real estate experience and a good understanding of the UK/European real estate investment market, real estate development process and conventions desirable.

· An understanding of real estate investment strategy and capital structures.

· Previous experience in operational real estate (PBSA, BTR, Senior Living) desirable.

· Network of UK/Europe real estate market contacts desirable.


· Entrepreneurial mindset with balanced technical knowledge and commercial acumen

· Ability to work in a high pressure and fast-paced environment

· Self-motivated, driven, committed, and able to work independently and as a part of a team (integrity and an ability to work in a high energy and collaborative environment)

· Ability to travel, if required
