Senior Retail Asset Manager - Iconic London Scheme


The Role

Madison Berkeley are thrilled to be working on behalf of one of the UK’s leading development companies, who are responsible for the most forward thinking and innovative mixed use city centre schemes in the UK. They are now seeking a Senior Retail Asset Manager, with strong Leasing experience to work specifically on one of the largest urban development projects in London.

The successful candidate will input into and then deliver the retail strategy for all existing and future retail projects and will actively promote the estate and our client by leveraging and developing relationships with international retailers, F & B and leisure operators. They pride themselves on creating unique retail destinations, with a large presence of up and coming brands, independents as well as internationally recognised brands.

This individual will be passionate about retail and creating ‘retail spaces’. The Senior Retail Asset Manager will align themselves with the ongoing place making ambitions for the site and act as an ambassador both nationally and internationally for the scheme. You will also need to display a great deal of commercial acumen, with the ability to write and present coherent board papers backed up by accurate and compelling financials.


  • Work as part of a team to deliver the overall retail and leisure strategy, mission, vision and short and long-term goals for the estate to deliver maximum place, consumer and financial performance.
  • Monitor trends, issues, opportunities and threats.
  • Work as team to deliver the overall strategy and ‘sub strategies’ that deliver maximum place, consumer and financial performance.
  • Asset strategies –work closely with asset and development senior management teams in relation to specific retail opportunities and existing assets.
  • Leasing product – shape and embed a mix of different leasing products to ensure the estate is best managing risk whilst supporting a spectrum of retailers from established brands to amenity and emerging concepts.
  • Prepare annual retail business plans for allocated assets
  • Support and input into all formal and informal reporting
  • Management of existing retail and F&B occupier relationships
  • Oversee and support the pipeline of leasing transactions, management of lease re-gears, lease renewals and rent reviews to drive and enhance value
  • Lead relationships with key retail agents


  • MRICS qualified or equivalent professional experience ideally gained in a property company or retail business
  • Proven asset management and leasing experience, ideally within the Central London retail market
  • Established retail market profile within Central London
  • Network of relationships across retail, F&B and leisure sectors
  • Experience of rent reviews, lease renewals, lease re-gears and delivering value accretive asset management opportunities
  • Experience of managing capital work projects, to include refurbishments
  • Awareness of occupier needs and market trends
