The Role

Analyst / Senior Analyst

Our client is one of the world’s largest real estate investment management organisations and manages investments for institutional investors. They specialise in managing real estate investments with different risk / return profiles and operates in North America, Europe and Asia.

Working within the fund team - the primary role of an Analyst / Senior Analyst will be to support senior members of team with investment analysis, fund modelling, supporting due diligence, responding to investor queries, developing an in-depth understanding of the wider residential market and preparing investor presentations.

Seeking someone with an understanding of residential / or operational assets – ie senior living, BTR, student accommodation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial underwriting and analysis of pipeline investments for Funds
  • Maintain Fund portfolio models, including management of feed-in from research, agents, operational managers and advisors to present return forecasts and cash flows
  • Organize, instruct and carry out due diligence of acquisitions;
  • Prepare investment papers and presentations for the Investment and Oversight Committees and assist in responding to ad hoc data requests
  • Prepare and assist with presentations for Fund meetings both internally and with investors
  • Engage with the residential capital markets including Registered Providers, Agents and developers and develop an in depth understanding of the emerging social, affordable and private rented residential sectors
  • Develop a relationship with IPD and assist with information and cash flow reconciliation ensuring performance measurement is adequately managed
  • Prepare and present research and market feedback on the residential sector on a quarterly basis

Person Specification

  • Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met;
    • Accurate under time pressure and exceptional attention to detail;
    • Pro-active and enjoys working autonomously and as part of a wider team; and
    • Flexible approach to work.
  • Strong financial modelling and database skills;
  • Demonstrable ability to maintain communication with various advisors and desire to oversee acquisition management
  • Must be degree educated and preferably have a relevant accounting, economics, finance, building surveying, construction or real estate qualification;
  • Prior work experience within the real estate investment or research function desirable, or exposure of working within the Registered Provider sector, residential development environment, but not essential; and
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Keen to build a profile in the emerging residential capital markets
