The Role

The company behind creating one of London’s most vibrant destinations for Shopping and Leisure are looking for a new Retail Leasing Director. They have come out the recent turbulence with strong footfall, and exciting plans for events and experiences to draw people in, and are on for a very positive 2021. They now need an experienced Retail Leasing professional to finalise and implement the retail strategy for all existing and future retail spaces and to actively promote the estate by leveraging and developing their existing relationships with international retailers and operators. This individual will need to be very passionate about the future of retail and will ideally have a good network in London to leverage. 

The successful individual will take overall responsibility for all transactional and professional management of the retail assets, and will work closely with the marketing team to create the right identities, marketing strategies and events to support the overall retail offering. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead on the overall retail strategy, vision and short and long-term goals for the site to deliver maximum consumer and financial performance.
  • Asset strategies – develop and work up plans for leasing and development of the asset.
  • Prepare annual business plans for all retail assets.
  • Manage asset performance versus budget and mitigating void cost.
  • Develop a mix of different leasing strategies to sustain the progress made to date in attracting a strong tenant mix
  • Oversee and support the pipeline of leasing transactions, management of lease re-gears, lease renewals and rent reviews to drive and enhance value. 
  • Lead relationships with key retail agents, ensuring execution of strategy.
  • Ultimate accountability for leasing strategy on existing units and any new developments.
  • A focus on the future of retail and to lead the insight and required outcomes of the changing retail landscape
  • Monitor, identify and highlight trends, issues, opportunities and threats.
  • Prepare board presentations, papers and updates to inform on retail sector progress

 

Requirements

  • MRICS Qualified or equivalent professional experience ideally gained in a property company or retail business.
  • Extensive property experience, ideally with exposure to Shopping Centre or Outlet retail
  • Strong retail market profile within Central London.
  • Experience and strategic views on future and innovation in the retail sectors.
  • Extensive network of relationships across retail sector.
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully building relationships with high profile customers and internal stakeholders.
  • A proven track record of identifying opportunities to add value and executing on transactions to deliver against targets of asset financial outperformance.
  • Awareness of occupier needs and market trends.
  • Numerically astute with an analytical approach.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
