Asset Manager - Resi/PRS Fund


The Role

London based Fund Management business with a number of separate funds are looking for an Asset Manager to focus on their PRS portfolio. The role will focus on the Asset Management and reporting of their growing residential portfolio, on a nationwide basis. The intention of the business is to continue growing their PRS AUM and they are continually looking for new investment and development opportunities. They are now looking to recruit a credible Residential Asset Manager who wants to join a small but very active team who offer great career potential. A key part of the role will be monitoring the performance of their external property managers and leasing agents, and making every effort to improve the overall operational property performance.


  • Work to maximise income and control operational expenses.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to add value to existing assets e.g. refurbishments to drive higher rents or sale values
  • Manage capital expenditure programmes by working closely with third party contractors
  • Assist in the acquisition of new opportunities by assessing suitability of schemes as a rental proposition and production of ERVs
  • Design, review and manage weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting system with property managers
  • Management of portfolio KPIs; particularly voids, arrears and expenditure
  • Manage third party property managers, working closely with them to make decisions, drive portfolio performance and address any performance issues
  • Implement processes as required to ensure effective management of portfolio
  • Use management information from property managers to analyse and optimise portfolio performance
  • Review and assist with quarterly valuation cycle

The Candidate

  • A background in a residential related Asset or Property Management positions is essential – PRS, BTR, Student, etc
  • Confident and willing to adopt a “hands on” approach to asset management
  • Ability to use initiative, self-motivate and work with minimal supervision
  • Committed to maintaining high standards and an eye for detail
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Financially numerate
  • Able to work as part of a team and optimise performance of subcontractors and managing agents
  • Able to combine commercial acumen with strong customer service skills to make decisions with both investors and tenants in mind
  • Eager to uphold high standards and work according to best practice at all times
  • Strong experience in residential property with deep knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation, health and safety legislation, and block management legislation
